Helena has been using Predictable to communicate for some time now. She uses both the English and Finish versions. She was kind enough to share her story with us. Read her comments below and watch how she uses Predictable in the video.
Can you tell me a little bit more about yourself and your condition and why you have chosen to use Predictable? I have autism and chose predictable due to the fact that it is available in many languages, is easy to use and has a stylish interface.
How has using Predictable changed the way you do things and your outlook on life? It has made it easier to communicate in my second language, Finnish, which doesn't have almost any AAC apps. I no longer have to rely on someone to know English or have someone else work as a translator.
What is your favourite Predictable feature and why? I like the ‘please wait’, ‘I am typing button’ as well as the option to save phrases.
Where do you find using the app most useful? In situations where more than a nod/shaking head is required and in very loud environments (as I can show what I want to say)
Would you recommend Predictable to people with similar conditions to you and why? Yes. For literate people who due to a disability, like autism, cannot speak the app is great.
Why do you love Predictable (top 3 reasons)? Keyboard can be customised, the theme can be changed and the various vocal sounds that are built in!
What do you think could be improved in Predictable? I think that it would be cool to use a color wheel to get to chose your own color when it comes to background, keyboard, etc.Watch Helena using Predictable here: https://youtu.be/Nl3quSnORIA
