Oky

Who’s it for?

Oky is a project for Unicef, and it will be trialled first in Mongolia and Indonesia.

What does it do?

Oky helps girls track their periods and gives them accurate information about menstrual health.

About The Client

UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to save children's lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfil their potential, from early childhood through adolescence.

Project Objective

Millions of girls globally are shamed for having periods, and are not able to manage them with normalcy and dignity. Girls have inadequate information and little support. Existing period tracker apps are not tailored to girls, as they are often commercial and largely target Western adult women. Oky is a menstruation tracking app designed by girls, for girls, with a pilot being developed for Mongolia and Indonesia.

Development is underway ahead of user acceptance testing in 2019
